Sub: Classification of non-gazetted posts as Selection/Non-Selection; consequent to the revision of pay structure as recommended by the 6th Central Pay Commission – status of promotions made between 01.01.2006 and 01.09.2008 within merged grades
Ref: Rly. Board’s letter No. E (NG)I-2008/PM1/15 dated 28.08.2009
Taking all the factors, enumerated in the Board’s letter, into consideration, AIRF is of the view that the staff duly promoted between the period 01.01.2006 to 30.08.2008 after observing all the relevant rules and procedures then prevailing should be allowed to enjoy the same. However, such staff may be allowed to opt either to retain promotion or to forgo the same by an act of positive option within a period of 3 months of such notification.
In the event of exercising option to come-over to VI CPC, such of the pay from a later date than 01.01.2006, payment already made as arrear should be allowed as such i.e. if, any over payment has already been made on the account of fixation of pay in the revised scale w.e.f. 01.01.2006, the same should be waived seeking relaxation of Rule 5 of RSRP in this regard as per power vested with the Government under Rule 16 of RSRP.
